Plug the OutaSense device into a USB power supply or any available USB port. The blue LED will turn on and remain solid, indicating that the device is powered on but not yet connected to the internet.
Step 2
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Wi-Fi. In the list of available Wi-Fi networks, select OutaSense-XXX. Your phone will connect directly to the OutaSense device.
⚠️ When you connect to the device’s Wi-Fi network, your smartphone / computer may display a warning such as ‘No Internet Connection‘ or ‘Unsecured Network’ (sometimes shown with an exclamation mark). This is normal, as the network is designed for local communication only and does not provide internet access. The ‘Unsecured Network‘ message may appear because the device uses an open or simplified security mode to make the initial setup process easier.
⚠️ If you don’t see the device’s Wi-Fi network in the list, try turning Wi-Fi off and back on again. Wait a few seconds, then check the available networks list once more.
Step 3
Open the Safari web browser and enter http://192.168.4.1 (do not use https) in the address bar, then tap → Go on the iPhone keyboard. The device configuration page will open.

Troubleshooting
Why can’t I see my Wi-Fi router’s network name (SSID)?
This device supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only. If your router is broadcasting a 5 GHz network, the device will not be able to detect it.
To resolve this, make sure your router’s 2.4 GHz network is enabled, or connect to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band instead.
Why doesn’t OutaSense-XXXX appear in my available Wi-Fi networks?
If the OutaSense-XXXX network does not appear, try the following steps:
Unplug the OutaSense device from the power source.
Plug it back in and confirm that the blue LED is on.
Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on on your device (phone, tablet, or PC).
Wait up to one minute for the network list to refresh.
After these steps, OutaSense-XXXX should appear in your available Wi-Fi networks.
Why am I not receiving email notifications?
If you are not receiving email notifications, please check the following:
Check your Junk or Spam folder, as some email providers may incorrectly mark notifications as spam.
If you find the email there, mark it as Not Spam.
Add alerts@outasense.com to your email account’s trusted senders or contacts list to ensure future notifications are delivered.
Why am I not receiving SMS or call notifications?
SMS and call notifications are a paid feature. To receive them, you must purchase SMS or call credits.
You can buy SMS or call credits by logging in to the OutaSense™ Dashboard and selecting the SMS or Call purchase option.
How do I reset my OutaSense device?
You can reset your OutaSense device in two ways:
1. Using the reset button on the device
Press and hold the small reset button on the device for at least 5 seconds.
Release the button when the blue LED blinks 6 times. The device will then reset to factory settings.
2. Using the web interface
You can also reset the device through its web configuration page:
Find the device’s LAN IP address by logging in to the OutaSense Dashboard at my.outasense.com
Make sure your computer or mobile device is connected to the same local network (LAN) as the OutaSense device.
Open a web browser and enter the IP address in the address bar (for example:
http://192.168.1.123), or click the Manage link on the dashboard.Go to the device’s configuration page and click Factory Reset
⚠️ To reset the device via the web configuration page, you must be connected to the same LAN as the OutaSense device.
